Detroit Wine Tasting is your home on the web when you are seeking information for an upcoming Michigan wine tour. Whether you're trying to find the best wine stores, wine bars, wineries and vineyards, or even the best Michigan wine tour party bus companies in the state, we've got you covered.
We're just as obsessed with Michigan's outstanding wineries as you are. It's our passion for wine that has us curating lists of the best Michigan vineyards and recommending local companies for party bus tours of wineries, not to mention crafting blog posts that delve headlong into the world of our delicious wines from the Metro Detroit area and beyond. A little bit of research prior to your Michigan wine tour assures an unforgettable wine tasting!
A little bit of pre-planning will ensure that you don't miss out on any of the best local vineyards and that you get to try all the wines that are on your to-drink list! Especially if your Detroit wine tour is intended to celebrate a very special day such as a wedding or bachelorette party. Of course, the only possible downside to going on a wine tour is if you get stuck being the designated driver! We highly suggest checking out one of our partners for party bus or limousine service, Detroit Party Bus, Party Bus Detroit, and Detroit Limo Service. Each one is intimately familiar with all these sensational wineries and would be thrilled to take you everywhere you want to go.
“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
You may not believe it, but Michigan boasts a total of 100 incredible wineries, and most of them have completely free wine tastings for your enjoyment. 20 of these mind blowing wine tasting rooms are located within 100 miles of our beloved downtown Detroit. We'd love to tell you a bit about them so you can consider which ones to include on your party bus itinerary for your Michigan wine tour! Let's delve into just a few of our favorites. We suggest you take notes on the ones that you want to visit most!
Wine Creations in Macomb is a family winery that we're very fond of, offering personalized labels for your weddings and other once in a lifetime events at no additional charge. Parmenter's Northville Cider Mill & Winery is primarily a cider mill as the name suggests, but their wine is so delicious that they are one of our top recommendations regardless! Village Winery in Romeo has a lovely downtown location with a newly expanded wine tasting room. And we would be remiss if we didn't mention Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail which includes Irish Hills, Hidden Lake Gardens, and beautiful lakes that provide a stunning backdrop to the swirl of wine in your glass.
If you're a history buff, you'll love to know that St. Julian Wine Company in Dundee is our state's oldest and largest winery, and it also lays claim to the most awards in Michigan as well! Really a must-visit. We're also big fans of their lovely Frankenmuth location. Howell's Mainstreet Winery offers over 30 wines and a very impressive tasting bar. Near Lake Huron you'll find Blue Water Winery, a favorite of ours that harvests Ice Wine grapes in the cold winter months. Cherry Creek Cellars is located in a schoolhouse from 1870, another must-see for history lovers! Plus it is a fudgery and offers locally roasted coffee, so you can really treat yourself to delights of both taste and smell here. Mmm.
